MDRT Announces Baby Boomer Retirement Preparedness Week: August 6-10
Members to Conduct Local Educational Campaigns to Help Baby Boomers Better Prepare for Retirement

Park Ridge, IL – June 14, 2007 – As part of its ongoing Boomertirement efforts, the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) is encouraging its members to conduct local educational campaigns to help Baby Boomers better prepare for retirement. MDRT is kicking off the effort with its Baby Boomer Retirement Preparedness Week – August 6-10, 2007.

“As the premier association of financial professionals, MDRT is mobilizing its 35,000 members worldwide in a variety of efforts to help this unique generation better prepare for retirement,” said MDRT President Philip E. Harriman, CLU, ChFC.

Beginning August 6, MDRT members will partner with local media, governments, businesses and community groups to conduct educational activities and events that will help Baby Boomers better understand the unique financial challenges they face, and take action on their own behalf.

According to Harriman, MDRT will provide its members with information and tools for their educational outreach activities based on the solutions discussed at the MDRT Boomertirement Industry Summit, held April 24-25, 2007, in New York City. That event brought media and leaders of the financial services and life insurance industry together with leading economists, scholars and thought leaders for two days of discussion about solutions to the pending Baby Boomer retirement crisis.

“Armed with solutions from the Boomertirement Industry Summit, MDRT members are today even more uniquely qualified to help Baby Boomers better understand their financial challenges and the steps they must take to prepare for retirement,” Harriman said.

Specific activities and promotions to support MDRT’s Baby Boomer Retirement Preparedness Week are currently under development, and additional details will be disseminated during the coming weeks.
